Mindfullness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an approach that incorporates mind body awareness to expand the ability to decrease your stress and expand your positive experience in your life. I introduce you to ways of becoming more present in your emotional and behavioral experience and to direct it with intention. This may include expanding your ability to relax and enjoy the moment, to recognize thought patterns that contribute to your distress and change them, and to develop a mindfulness practice that you can do on your own outside of the therapy sessions. This approach has scientific validation for its ability to resolve depression, anxiety, and chronic pain.
I am trained in this approach and a have maintained my own mindfulness practice for several decades. I beleive in the power of the approach through my own application of it in my life, and through helping many individuals develop mindfulness skills to apply their own lives.
